$55M for the Mohawk Valley + This Week’s 315 Guide ❄️
Inside: Massive economic news for our region, trail warnings for snowmobilers, and why you should wear your best pajamas to brunch this Sunday.

Happy Tuesday, 315! We had a big year exploring the 315 and hitting some of the big acts. Metallica, Dream Theater, and WWE at the Oncenter. We explored some of the new foodie spots and a couple of regional festivals. Each opened more doors to exploration in the 315, which we’ll be taking full advantage of.
This week, there’s a ton of great local events, including the Empire State RV Mega Show at the NYS Fairgrounds. Also, since we have more snow than we’ve seen in years, we have the link to check on the trails in the area. Don’t forget to forward the newsletter to someone who would enjoy it or could use it. We look forward to posting more local goodies on social and finding new events to share with you all.

📰 The 315 Community Chronicles
Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced that the Mohawk Valley will receive $55.4 million through the 2025 Regional Economic Development Council initiative. This funding includes $32 million for the "Rooted in the Mohawk Valley" project, which aims to boost regional tourism, agribusiness, and long-term economic resilience across six local counties.
Snowmobilers are urged to check trail conditions before heading out, as many routes remain closed due to insufficient snow and wet terrain. Respecting closures protects landowners' property and ensures future trail access. Use local club websites or the NYSSA mobile app for real-time updates on trail safety and availability.
Market 32 and Price Chopper are supporting Special Olympics through March 15 by inviting customers to "round up" their change at checkout. The grocer will match donations up to $10,000. All proceeds provide coaching and equipment for local athletes with intellectual disabilities to pursue their dreams.
A recent New York State Comptroller’s audit found that the Oneida County Clerk’s office failed to remit $2.7 million in fees to the county in a timely manner, with delays averaging 69 days. While funds were collected properly, the audit recommended stricter oversight to improve financial accountability and transparency.
NYSARC Trust Services has awarded Arc Herkimer a $14,250 grant to enhance its 2025 guardianship program. This funding provides essential advocacy and person-centered support for individuals with disabilities who lack legal guardians, ensuring their well-being and community connection through daily operations and social engagements.
